City purchases property to further Loudon Park improvement plan

Two properties provide additional space for future park use

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is expanding Loudon Park through the recent purchase of 4246 and 4288 Victoria Avenue, two properties adjacent to the Park. In addition to increasing community access to Long Lake, the expanded park land will provide more options to benefit the surrounding neighbourhood and wider community as part of the Loudon Park Improvement Project.

The Project addresses priorities in the Integrated Action Plan with plans to improve the park and support the Nanaimo Rowing Club and Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club, which has called Long Lake home for decades. These upgrades are part of a broader effort to make Loudon Park more accessible and enjoyable for the community.

Details on the Loudon Park improvement project are available on the City's website.
