Certified Professional Program

The Certified Professional (CP) Program is an alternative to the traditional building permitting and construction monitoring process.  This program, jointly administered by the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC) and the Architectural Institute of BC (AIBC), allows certified engineers and architects with advanced training and certification to provide professional assurances that their projects comply with BC Building Code and other safety regulations.

The CP Program aims to streamline the permitting process, offering a more efficient and reliable method for ensuring building safety and compliance.

The CP Manual is intended to be used as a guide in executing the CP Program, along with the City of Nanaimo Certified Professional Program Manual.
