Getting Here

Drive

You can reach Nanaimo by car from communities to the south like Ladysmith and Victoria. Drive to Nanaimo from the north from communities like Courtenay and Campbell River.

Ferry

BC Ferries, with 2 terminals at Departure Bay and Duke Point, links Nanaimo with Vancouver. See BC Ferries for ferry routes and schedules.

Boat

Access Nanaimo by boat as well and stay at various marinas.

Fly

Nanaimo has multiple options to fly in. Nanaimo Airport (YCD) is just 18km south of Nanaimo and has many local and international flights. Taxi, shuttles and rental cars are available to take you to and from the airport.

Regularly scheduled flights to downtown Vancouver and Vancouver International Airport South Terminal are available with Seaplanes.

Daily flights to and from Vancouver's helipad and Nanaimo's Cruise Ship Terminal are easily booked and fly daily with HeliJet.

Nanaimo Regional Transit Systemcan assist in getting you around the city. Look up schedules and maps on BC Transit website.

If you've arrived by electric vehicle, you can find multiple charging stations throughout the city using the PlugShare map.

When you are visiting by car, we offer information about parking in the City on our website. You can find maps, street parking rates, boat ramp passes and more.
