The Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) is a regional referral hospital with a fully modern 409 bed facility. Services include surgery, maternity, pediatrics, intensive care, rehabilitation, psychiatry and extended care. Outpatient services include radiology, laboratory diagnostics, diabetes education centre, the Nanaimo Cancer Centre, pacemaker clinic, among others. NRGH is continuously expanding services to meet the needs of the growing region.
The hospital is served by approximately 435 doctors (153 General Practitioners, 126 Medical Specialists, 156 Other Health Practitioners) from around the area. The catchment area for NRGH is the central and north island, which represents approximately 300,000 people.
