Lost Intersections

Lost Intersections  by artist Jackie Wong, is a public art project that shines light on an often-overlooked part of the city’s past. Through three neon installations placed at historical intersections, the project marks the former sites of Nanaimo’s three Chinatowns - once vibrant centers of community, culture, and resilience for Chinese immigrants. These illuminated wayfinders invite passersby to pause, reflect, and uncover the stories that shaped Nanaimo’s cultural identity.
