Some of Nanaimo's greatest assets are its public outdoor spaces. With over 1000 hectares of City parks and 180 kilometres of trails, there is something for everyone to enjoy and discover.

Partners in Parks

Help make Nanaimo's parks better by volunteering for park improvement projects. Our Partners in Parks Program (PIP) is a public participation program utilizes the talents, skills and energy of community partners to develop, maintain and beautify Nanaimo's parks and trails.

Leadership in Asset Management Program (LAMP)

A unique initiative through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to strengthen our approach in managing infrastructure that provides community services. The phase 2 portion is a pilot project for neighbourhood parks and trails. Click to learn more.
