The announcement from May 25, 2021 from the Provincial Government is very exciting! The City of Nanaimo, Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture is looking forward to increasing our levels of service that are in compliance with the phased re-start plan and current Provincial Health Orders.

Please be patient with us as we interpret and seek clarification on the re-opening guidelines. We will communicate updates on the City of Nanaimo website and Facebook page.

Registration for summer programs is now underway. There are three ways to register:

  • Online
  • Telephone: call 250-756-5200
  • In Person: Bowen Park, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre and Oliver Woods Community Centre 


Pre-register for your sessions online up to 72 hours in advance. You may also call 250-756-5200 or visit Bowen Park Complex, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre or Oliver Woods Community Centre and book with front desk staff. Need help pre-registering for your sessions? Check out this tutorial video.
