Delegation Information

To appear as a delegation before Council or the Committee of the Whole you must submit a written request to the Legislative Services Department outlining the presentation topic.

Council Meetings are generally held the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm, in the Shaw Auditorium in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre located at 80 Commercial Street, and are open to the public. Committee of the Whole Meetings are held on alternate Mondays at 4:30 pm, also in the Shaw Auditorium. For a schedule of meetings, see the 2017 Council Key Date Calendar. Please note that the schedule can change.

All delegation requests will be processed using delegation request deadlines below:

NOTE: Multiple speakers (four or more) on a single issue or topic will be given five minutes each to make their presentations (from Section 18.6 of  "Council Procedure Bylaw 2007 No. 7060").

If you want to make an audio/visual presentation, please send the presentation to the Legislative Services Department by 11:00 am on the Friday before the meeting. Presentations must be in PowerPoint format or jpg images where the order of the slides is clear. A remote control will be provided to you at the meeting for you to control your images. Please arrive 15 minutes before the meeting to check in with technical support staff.

Once at the meeting, let the Manager of Legislative Services know you are in attendance. You will be called when it is time to make your presentation to Council.
