Commercial/Multi-Family/Industrial/Public Building Alteration Permit

A building permit is required for alterations and additions - interior or exterior - to an existing commercial, multi-family, industrial or public building, including a change of occupancy type (i.e., office use to daycare use) in a building or commercial rental space

For alterations within a commercial rental suite or building to accommodate a new tenancy, or for improvement that do not include a change of occupancy type, refer to the Leasehold Improvement page.
