No. of Days: days in between the last date the meter was read and this date. The charges will be based on these number of days
Current Reading: the reading on the water meter used to determine how much water was used in the billing period. This is usually measured in cubic meters.
1 cubic meter = 220 imperial gallons or 1,000 litres
Previous Reading: the reading on the water meter before the current reading.
Consumption: total water used over the number of days outlined. This is used to determine the average daily consumption used for billing.
Specific messages regarding your account, such as a notice of high consumption, might be displayed here.
5 Previous Bill Amount: the total of the last statement of user rates. If this balance has been paid, the "Payment" and "Discount" will be shown below. 6 Payment and Discount (if allowed). 7 Water Base Rate: fixed daily charge based on the size of the water meter. For most residential properties the meter is a 19MM or 25MM and a "WATER BASE RATE - RES" is charged.
Example:
120 days x $1.11229 = $133.47
8 Water Consumption: variable charge based on the water used in this billing period.
The charge is based on the daily average which is calculated by dividing the total gallons by the number of days (as indicated in #4). Tiered rates are applied over 4 steps.
Example:
22,880 gallons / 120 days = 190.66 gallons per day
Tier 1 (0 - 110 gallons per day) = 110 x $0.00234 x 120 days = $30.89
Tier 2 (111 - 220 gallons per day) = 80.66* x 0.00583 x 120 days = $56.43
*calculated as 190.66 gallons per day less 110 gallons per day in Tier 1
Total water consumption charges: $87.32
9 Sewer Unit Rate: fixed daily charge based on the number of days in the billing period and number of residential units.
Example:
120 days x $0.48869 = $58.64
10 Garbage Unit Rate: fixed daily charge for providing collection services.
Garbage Upsize: fixed daily charge for requesting a garbage cart larger than the standard size. For a single-family residential, the standard garbage cart is 120L.
Example:
Garbage Unit Rate: 120 days x $0.69315 = $83.18
Garbage Upsize: 120 days x $0.319250 = $38.31 (in this example the garbage cart has been upsized to 240L)
Total garbage charges: $121.49
11 Total bill balance. If paid by the due date, the 5% discount applies.
12 Important messages. These are general messages for all property owners which change throughout the year.
13 If you are submitting payment in person, the drop box, or mail, please include the stub and write down the amount you are paying.
If the account is enrolled in the Auto Debit program, this box will be "x'd" out.
