Seniors survey will help shape a new emergency preparedness information guide

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is inviting seniors, caregivers, family members and organizations that support older adults to participate in a survey that will help shape a new Seniors Emergency Preparedness Information Guide. The guide is being developed to help older adults prepare for community-wide emergencies and disasters such as extreme heat, power outages, wildfire smoke, earthquakes and severe weather.

Community feedback will help ensure the guide is practical, accessible and responsive to the needs of local seniors. Residents can complete the survey online or in paper format through community locations across Nanaimo. The survey is open until Oct. 1, 2026.

This project was made possible through funding from the BC Age-friendly Communities Grant Program. For more information on this project and to participate, visit www.GetInvolvedNanaimo.ca
