Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking an ambitious, progressive, and outside-the-box thinking Transportation Engineer who is eager to break new ground in Multimodal Urban Mobility. Reporting to the Manager of Transportation, this position will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from; advancing Transit priorities; to enhancing the City’s Intelligent Transportation System; to supporting the daily needs of other departments such as Land Development, Construction, and Public Works.

Requirements

It is expected that the successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer or Licensee in good standing with EGBC and will demonstrate an ability to apply core competencies of transportation engineering while working in an urban environment that prioritizes walking, biking, and mass transit. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a permanent full-time exempt position offering 35 hours of work per week, with the salary range of $108,538.46 to $115,466.45 as well as a competitive benefits package. The incumbent will be eligible for a Flexible Work Day and Earned Day Off through our Alternative Work Schedules program.
