Printing Recommendations
The City of Nanaimo encourages its residents and everyone using its services to make every effort to avoid printing maps, invoices, notices, and any other assets it provides but acknowledges that there are circumstances wherein printing a physical is warranted or even required. Please use this guide to help reduce your environmental impact and maybe save some ink when printing assets provided by the City of Nanaimo.
Here are some recommendations for when you are required to print documents or other assets provided by the City of Nanaimo. Remember, you can always request or sign up to receive your tax notices, utility bills, business licences, dog licences, building permits, and almost all city-related records in a digital format to avoid printing it.
- Print in black and white or greyscale.
- Print in "draft" or "economy" mode.
- Print with low resolution image options enabled on your printer.
- Print multiple pages per paper sheet.
- Check the energy rating on a printer before you buy it.
- Print duplex (both sides).
