Nanaimo Systems Planning Organization

The creation of the Nanaimo Systems Planning Organization (SPO) emerged from one of the key recommendations from the 2021 Health and Housing Action Plan (HHAP). The role of the SPO is to help optimize the current resources and maximize return on existing investment. The SPO will be responsible for several key areas of plan implementation, focusing especially on improved coordination and organization of existing health and housing resources. More information on the SPO can be found in the Charter.

The purpose of the SPO is to provide research, data, analysis, education and information related to the community's homelessness response and provide coordinated action and advocacy by Nanaimo's non-profit organizations, Snuneymuxw First Nation and other levels of government, the business sector and the broader community to address an end to homelessness in Nanaimo.
