Financial Analyst

Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning, the incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering the budgetary systems and documentation for the City of Nanaimo. The Financial Analyst will work closely with City staff at various levels, seeking and soliciting co-operation and information, and participate in problem solving efforts to complete the financial planning model. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying sources of grant funding available to the City of Nanaimo and work with departments throughout the City to apply for and administer the various grants, and will ensure that applications and funding claims are submitted according to the grantors’ requirements.

Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum 4 years’ experience in a variety of complex accounting practices in a computerized environment. Completion of a recognized British Columbia Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is required.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position. $56.68 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2024 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week.
