Nanaimo's flagship learn-to-skate program reaches milestone

Summary

The City of Nanaimo Parks and Recreation department recently awarded the 150th RecSkate 7 Medallion to skater Jacob Madill. This accomplishment highlights the achievement of attaining the advanced skills required in this skating level.

The RecSkate program's reward system has been pivotal in building and sustaining learn-to-skate opportunities in Nanaimo. In 2005 the City awarded the first of these awards, and 12 years later the City can still track the careers of the young skaters.
