NEWS RELEASE - Distributed April 18, 2017 2:00 PM
Summary
On Sunday, April 23 a free festival-style community event, the Earth, Water & Wild Foods Festival, will be held in Bowen Park from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Food vendors and chefs will be offering tasty samples featuring local and wild food products. Booths focusing on water and earth will be set up offering demonstrations, workshops, live music, kids activities and guided walks through Bowen Park.
As part of the Water to Earth Month celebration, and in partnership with the Regional District of Nanaimo's Team WaterSmart, Vancouver Island University and the Nanaimo and Area Land Trust, the City of Nanaimo is supporting several activities such as river rafting, stream walks, documentary films, movie nights, educational tours and workshops being held throughout the months of March and April.
