Summer Concerts in the Park Series Moves to Maffeo Sutton Starting August 5

Summary

Starting August 5, the community can enjoy free musical entertainment on Nanaimo's scenic waterfront when the Summer Concerts in the Park series moves from its current location at the Bowen Park Amphitheatre to Maffeo Sutton Park.

The new location will see performances by Sunny, Honey and Wild Bill; Michael Wood Band; Drs of Rock 'n Roll; and Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra. The series runs every Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm until August 26.

Also, as part of the Summer Concerts in the Park series, the public can enjoy a special lunchtime show on Mondays from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Maffeo Sutton Park until August 24.

  • August 5, 12, 19 and 26 (Wednesday evenings) concerts will be held at Maffeo Sutton Park from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
  • On August 10, 17 and 24 (Mondays) from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, bring your lunch to Maffeo Sutton Park for a special Lunchtime Concert in the Park.
  • Please note, there will not be a lunchtime performance on August 3 (BC Day).
