Mailing tax payments and Home Owner Grant applications is no longer recommended

Summary

Due to a possible Canada Post strike which could start July 2, 2016, the City of Nanaimo is advising residents that it is now too late to mail your property tax payments or Home Owner Grant applications. Payments and/or grant applications must be received by the July 4 due date or they will be subject to penalties.

Payments can be made through your internet banking site, by using the drop box that is available 24/7 at 411 Dunsmuir Street, or by visiting the Service and Resource Centre on Dunsmuir Street. Payments are also accepted at most financial institutions.

Home Owner Grants can be claimed online at www.nanaimo.ca, by using the drop box or by visiting the Service and Resource Centre. The grant must be claimed each year that you're eligible to avoid penalties.
