To "end ALS" refers to finding a cure for the disease or raising awareness and funds to support research and patient services. The ALS Society of Canada and other organizations use events like the "Walk to End ALS" to raise funds for research and support. Additionally, initiatives like "Tri\'ing to End ALS" involve athletes competing in multiple sports to raise awareness and funds. People with end stage ALS lose the ability to breathe, have limited mobility as muscles become paralyzed, and may no longer be able to speak.
