Travel assistance for local athletes
The Boxing BC Association and the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club each received a Travel Assistance grant for attending and participating in sporting events outside of Nanaimo. Two local athletes from Boxing BC received $200 for attending the 2017 Imperium Cup held in Terrebonne, QC and one lawn bowler received $100 for attending the National Junior & U25 Lawn Bowling Championship in Dartmouth, NS.

Development around Nanaimo
A nine-unit multi-family residential development at 5705 Vanderneuk Road received approval.

Council approved a development variance permit application to allow the construction of single residential dwelling at 3-114 Gibralter Rock.

The property at 5776 Linyard Road got the go ahead to install a heat pump in the side yard.
