A Development Variance Permit was issued for 5515 Godfrey Road, reducing the minimum lot depth requirement to facilitate a two-lot subdivision.
Section 12a

“Home Energy Retrofit Financing Program Bylaw 2025 No. 7393” (to initiative the City of Nanaimo’s retrofit financing program) passed three readings. Through this program, a homeowner will be able to apply for a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loan which would enable the loan to be tied to the property, rather than an individual, and paid off through the property tax bill.
Section 12b

Council will be providing a letter of concurrence to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada in response to a proposed 31m telecommunications facility at 6675 Mary Ellen Drive.
Section 12c

“Housing Agreement Bylaw 2025 No. 7394” (to secure the terms and conditions of occupancy for a residential shelter at 11 Dancer Road) passed three readings.
Section 12d

Bylaw Updates

The motions to adopt “Council Procedure Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2025 No. 7272.05” and “Respectful Spaces Amendment Bylaw 2025 No. 7381.01” were deferred to a future Council meeting.

Correspondence

Council will be providing a letter of support to British Columbia Conservation Foundation, for their grant application to EcoAction Stream 1: Community-led Freshwater Action Across Canada.
Section 14a

Council will be providing a letter of support to Art Action Earwig, for their grant application to Canada Council for the Arts in Support of Pulling To Gather 2025-2026.
