Preliminary referendum results tallied
Over 80 per cent of voters have chosen not to support the City borrowing $80 million to build an events centre in Nanaimo. Voter turnout was 2.1 per cent higher than the 2014 general election. The final results will be released on Wednesday, March 15.

Travel grant awarded for team
The Vancouver Island Special Needs Hockey Association received a $1,600 Travel Grant to cover the costs of sixteen athletes attending the UCT Winter Hockey Festival located in Valencia, California.
