Mayor’s Report
Members of Council will be attending the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities (AVICC) convention in Powell River April 12-14.

RCMP Quarterly Review
Superintendent Miller presented Council with an overview of statistics and priorities in the RCMP’s Quarterly Review.
Section 6 a

Waterfront Walkway
Staff presented background information on the Waterfront Walkway and next steps forward, which include a Waterfront Walkway Feasibility Study. The study will be carried out to further examine the overall cost and implications of the walkway’s design.

Privacy Initiatives
Council are endorsing the work that staff are undertaking to comply with the recommendations of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of British Columbia, including the implementation of a Privacy Management Program and mandatory and ongoing training for all City employees and officers.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Four new public electric vehicle charging stations may be installed at City-owned sites, with Council approving a recommendation to participate in the Mid-Island Electric Vehicle Network Project and associated CleanBC Communities Fund Application with the Regional District of Nanaimo. $24,000 will be allocated from the 2019-2023 Financial Plan, which will be amended to add $80,000 to 2019 for the charging station projects, including grant contributions and City share.
