The deadline for submissions will be: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Grant applications must be received by 4:00pm PST on the day of deadline to be eligible for consideration in this funding stream

How to Apply
Before you Begin, do the following:
- Attend a mandatory Culture Grant Information Session
- Read the Culture Grants Frequently Asked Questions
- Read the full Project Grant Program Guidelines and be sure to:
- Review the Eligibility Criteria and Guidelines
- Understand the Terms and Conditions of Funding - Submit any outstanding Final or Interim Reports for previous Culture Grant Funding from the City of Nanaimo as per the due date in the Terms and Conditions and Funding Acknowledgement Form.
Failure to provide a Final or Interim Report will render new applications ineligible.
Then prepare your application:
- Scroll through the entire form and the Checklists in the "Are you Ready?" section below to gain a full understanding of the information you will need, the documents you need to prepare, and the materials you need to gather.
- Download each Section of the application (below) and save the documents to a dedicated folder on your computer.
(These Sections contain the detailed question and answer portion of the application, and your Budget Form) - Using Microsoft Word (recommended), answer the questions in the downloaded Sections A1 & A2-4 and save each Section document as a PDF
- Using Microsoft Excel (recommended), complete your Section A5 Budget Form and save it as a PDF
- Download and carefully review the Culture Grant Supporting Material and File Guidelines which includes a suggested list of supporting materials, and their acceptable file types and sizes.
- Gather and prepare your Support Materials according to the file type/size guidelines and save them to the dedicated folder on your computer.

- You have written your thoughtful detailed responses in the downloaded Application Sections A1 & A2-4 and prepared your Section A5 Budget Form
- You have all of your documents and support materials prepared, organized, and ready to upload

- A1. Applicant Profile (for ALL Culture Grants)
- This template asks questions about your organization. If you are applying for more than one grant, you only need to download and complete this Applicant Profile once, however you will need to upload it to each grant application that you submit.
- A2-A4 Project Description (For PROJECT Grants)
- This template is where you will provide detailed written responses to specifically support your Project Grant application.
- A5 Budget Form
- This is our new standard Budget Form template to be used for all grant types, but will need to be completed separately with the relevant details for each grant.
