Children's Recreation Programs
Our Early Years (ages 6 months to 5/6 years) and Children's Programs (ages 5/6+) allow your little one to discover a variety of activities. We have monthly "Play and Learn" programs for the preschooler and a variety of sports, arts, crafts, language and music to choose from for children of all ages. At the City of Nanaimo, we know how important it is to have and establish an active and healthy lifestyle.

Active Pass and Stay Active Pass
Each year, children who are enrolled in grade 5 with School District #68 are eligible for an Active Pass. An Active Pass gives students free admission to public swimming, skating and gymnasium programs. To get your Active Pass, please fill our our application form and return it to one of our recreation offices.
To encourage those of you who have participated in the Active Pass program to remain active, we are offering each grade 6 student enrolled through School District #68 a Stay Active Pass giving participants 12 visits to the pools, arenas or drop-in gymnasium programs.
