Project Description

In addition to the ongoing construction at the intersection of Townsite Road and Holly Avenue, the City of Nanaimo and Southern Railway of Vancouver Island will be completing upgrades to the railway crossing on Townsite Road.

General Considerations

This work will require a full closure of Townsite Road, between Holly Avenue and Terminal Avenue, on October 15 from 7am to 7pm. No vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian traffic will be allowed through during the closure. Please use detours or alternate routes. Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained. Transit users can visit www.rdn.bc.ca/transit-service-alerts to learn more about service impacts.

Construction signage and traffic control personnel will be in place to help direct traffic safely around the closure. Please stay alert, follow posted signs, and obey the directions of traffic control personnel.
