Strategic Framework highlights Council’s key focus areas

Summary

Nanaimo City Council has agreed on their six focus areas for the remainder of their four-year term in office, endorsing the 2023-2026 Council Strategic Framework at their regularly scheduled meeting June 5th. The Framework was developed through a series of workshops held over the past several months.

The 2023-2026 Council Strategic Framework will guide Council’s decision-making in the years ahead. The six focus areas identified in the document are:

  • Implementing City Plan: Nanaimo ReImagined Action Plans and key City management plans
  • Social, health and public safety challenges
  • Maintaining and growing current services
  • Capital projects
  • Communicating with the community
  • Governance and corporate excellence

The Strategic Framework reflects the areas Council believes need special attention and resourcing as the City works towards building a stronger, more sustainable and more resilient community.
