Council seeking feedback on their new Strategic Plan

Summary

A draft version of the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan is now online and Council is seeking input from the community. Residents are invited to view the plan online and email their comments to PublicEngagement@nanaimo.ca prior to March 31, 2019.

Council’s Strategic Plan will provide a guide for the next four years and beyond. It is used to identify strategic priorities, help determine future projects, inform decision-making and place focus on the needs and interests of the community.

The draft 2019-2022 Strategic Plan was developed through an open planning process over the past number of weeks. Council has identified four strategic themes for the plan:

  1. Governance Excellence
  2. Environmental Responsibility
  3. Economic Health
  4. Livability

Under each of these priorities is a list of focus areas that support and help the City deliver on their strategic themes. Comments received by the public will be compiled and reviewed by Council at an upcoming meeting.

The draft 2019-2022 Strategic Plan can be viewed on the City’s website at www.nanaimo.ca.
