NEWS RELEASE - Distributed October 6, 2014 2:30 PM
Summary
The locations of Voting Places for this year’s election are in the final planning stages. In addition to the 11 places distributed throughout the City on voting day, there are opportunities to vote by mail or on two different advance voting days.
Mail In Ballot Voting is available for those expecting to be absent or who have a physical disability, illness or injury that affects their ability to vote in person. Applications are available through the City's Legislative Services Department.
Residents wishing to participate in advance voting can do so November 5th and 12th at Bowen Park Auditorium, 500 Bowen Road.
The following voting places will be open on General Election Day, November 15 from 8am to 8pm.

- The Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, as well as fifteen long-term care facilities, have been offered opportunities for mail in ballot voting.
- In keeping with past elections, Protection Island will continue to have an on-island voting place.
Quotes
"The 2014 general municipal election is nearing and City staff are preparing the locations that will welcome voters on November 15. A total of 11 voting places are available, including one on Protection Island."
Quick Facts
- On election day, signage will be posted at Quarterway Elementary School to assist voters with finding the new voting place at Nanaimo Alliance Church.
- On election day, voters can choose from any of the voting places listed on the City's website. The choice is yours.
