City accepting grant applications for Cultural Operating / Events & Festivals

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is now accepting applications from community organizations needing financial assistance to support their cultural organization or events. Two grants are available to local non-profit organizations: a Cultural Operating Grant and a Cultural Festivals & Events Grant.

Guidelines and application forms can be found on the City's website (www.nanaimo.ca > Departments > Culture and Heritage > Culture and Heritage Grants) or in person at the Service & Resource Centre (411 Dunsmuir Street). The deadline for application submission is Friday, October 31, 2014.

Link to Strategic Plan: These grant programs support Cultural Vitality, one of the four pillars of the 2012-2015 Corporate Strategic Plan. As well, they support the 2014-2020 Cultural Plan for a Creative Nanaimo's strategy to support ongoing and stable core funding to non-profit arts and cultural organizations to enable them to leverage funding from other sources.
