Nanaimo Fire Rescue Involved in Water Rescue at Westwood Lake

Summary

Nanaimo Fire Rescue was called to Westwood Lake Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3pm with a report of a capsized boat and two people in the water. Another two people in the area assisted the individuals in the water until help arrived. Nanaimo Fire Rescue launched their boat and retrieved the two victims. One victim was airlifted to hospital and the other individual was taken to hospital by Ambulance. Nanaimo Fire, RCMP and BCAS were all present on scene.
