Funding requests
Reports will be drafted on potential funding for the Nanaimo and District SPCA spay/neuter program and for the Nanaimo Pride Society.

Grant allocations
A total of $85,000 in Social Planning grants and $150,000 Downtown Event grants were awarded to various community groups and organizations. 

Travel grants were awarded to the Nanaimo Squash Club for attending the Alberta Jesters Junior Open in Calgary, AB; Southside Minor Football for attending the BCCFA Provincial Championships in Coquitlam, BC and John Basby Secondary Girls Volleyball for attending the AA Girls Provincial Volleyball Championships in Burnaby, BC.

Arena upgrades
Frank Crane Arena will get a new ammonia chiller and an upgrade to the refrigeration plant. The cost for the replacement and upgrade will be $471,211.
