Appointment of Agent

In Support of Development Applications

Where the applicant is someone other than the owner, and / or where the subject parcel is owned by more than one person, an Appointment of Agent form must be provided in order to submit an application to the City of Nanaimo.

If you are an agent representing an owner or are an owner needing an agent to represent you, please complete the Appointment of Agent form. Once completed and signed by all property owners, please download the completed Appointment of Agent form to include with your Development Application submission. 

Instructions for Completing the Appointment of Agent Form

1. Access the Form

2. Enter Agent Information

3. Enter Owner(s) Information

4. Start the Signing Process

5. Signing Order and Email Notifications

• Each owner will receive an email invitation to complete their section and sign the form in the order they are listed.  After signing, allow up to 10 minutes for the next email to arrive. Note: The Agent will not receive an invitation to sign the Appointment of Agent Form.
• You must complete and sign your section before the next person receives their invitation.

• If someone hasn’t received their email invitation within 10 minutes, ask them to check their junk/spam folder or contact us for assistance.

6. Final Steps

Once all parties have signed:

• A copy of the completed Appointment of Agent form will be sent to each signer.
• Download the completed form to include it with your Development Application submission.
