Park offers excellent ocean views and a wide variety of bird species on site. The park offers access between ferry dock and homes for residents of the island. The park is rough and natural and is heavily treed. Acquired through subdivision in 1960.

All the parks on Protection Island were named according to a pirate theme by the developer, Frank Ney (a former Mayor of Nanaimo).
