Project Description

The Seventh Street Pump Station and Forcemain Project consists of:

  • A new pump station on Seventh Street at Park Avenue,
  • A new pressurized forcemain along Seventh Street from the pump station to the Regional District of Nanaimo trunk main at the intersection of Eaton and Woodhouse.
  • Abandonment of the existing pump station at 840 Park Ave.
  • New sanitary sewer mains west of the pump station site to divert flows to the new pump station.
  • Watermain replacement along Seveth Street from Park Ave to Victoria Road.
  • Associated road works.

General Considerations

  • Typical hours of work for this project will be Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with work after hours and weekends as required.
  • Construction noise and vibration should be expected during working hours.
  • Residents and businesses will be notified 24 hours in advance of any scheduled water shutdowns.
  • Anticipate traffic pattern changes, road closures, and detours at times.
  • If you live in the area and have young children, please advise them of the dangers of construction and the limited visibility of heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Landscape restoration will be done at the end of the project.

Estimate Construction Start Date: February 2019

Estimate Construction Completion Date: November 2019
