Bowen Road will see closures, detours and traffic disruptions for night paving

For 10 nights beginning August 8, Bowen Road, between Northfield and Meredith, will be a construction zone

Summary

Night paving on Bowen Road, between Northfield Road and Meredith Road, will take place August 8 to August 18.

To keep the project efficient while reducing the impact on daily traffic, construction activities will be carried out from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. This section of Bowen Road will be closed to traffic during this time and a signed detour will redirect traffic along Boxwood Road and Dufferin Crescent. Please allow extra travel time and to avoid delays and disruptions, please use alternate routes when possible.

Construction projects can cause temporary inconveniences and we appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we work to improve the infrastructure in our community.

Quotes

"Sometimes asset management is grand, such as our Midtown Water Supply project; it replaces our old water main with a new, resilient one while improving our roads, walking paths, water distribution, and sanitary and storm sewers. Other times, it’s just a good old-fashioned paving project like this. Nonetheless, there will be road closures and we apologize for the inconvenience; we know how important it is to maintain Bowen Road and to keep it operational. Thank you for your patience, Nanaimo!"
