Nanaimo welcomes its next Mayor and Council at the 2022 Inaugural Ceremony

The City's new Mayor and Council will be welcomed and sworn-in during an inaugural ceremony at 7 pm on Monday, November 7.

With 18,664 ballots cast in the 2022 General Local Election, Leonard Krog was re-elected and will serve as Nanaimo's mayor. Mayor Krog will be joined by re-elected councillors Sheryl Armstrong, Tyler Brown, Ben Geselbracht, Erin Hemmens and Ian Thorpe, and newly-elected councillors Hilary Eastmure, Paul Manly and Janice Perrino.

The public is invited to come and watch the ceremony, beginning at 7 pm at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in the Mt. Benson Ballroom. The ceremony will also be livestreamed through the City's website and will be broadcast live on Shaw TV, channel 4.
