The City of Nanaimo is committed to encouraging a diverse and healthy local economy now and into the future. For this reason, the City, along with the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, are hosting an exciting free event aimed at startups and small to medium sized businesses looking to grow. The event will take place at Beban Park Social Centre from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on May 30.

This impactful day will include six informative panel sessions and a trade show component featuring 20 organizations offering advice, ideas and resources. Panel topics include business planning, human capital, financing & risk mitigation, finding new markets, digital strategy, and peer mentoring/networking.

"This unique Nanaimo event came together as a direct response to needs identified by Nanaimo businesses in 2018," said Amrit Manhas, City of Nanaimo Economic Development Officer, "I encourage anyone interested in attending to visit the Economic Development website to read a detailed description of each session and to see a list of organizations involved."

Those interested in attending sessions, networking and visiting the trade show are asked to RSVP by emailing alyssa.bandurka@nanaimo.ca.
