City Seeking Proposals for 2019 Temporary Outdoor Art Program

Accepting proposals until Monday, October 22, 2018 (3:00 pm)

Summary

The City of Nanaimo is currently seeking proposals for temporary outdoor art for display in public places beginning in 2019. All artists are invited to submit their proposals through "CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR TEMPORARY OUTDOOR ART NO. 2258", which is available on the City's website at www.nanaimo.ca/bid-opportunities. The deadline for proposals is Monday, October 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm.

Since 2010, the City of Nanaimo has been involved in a dynamic and evolving public art program that enhances and animates our City’s parks. Each year, outdoor artwork is installed in public places on a temporary basis for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. The parks essentially become outdoor art galleries and showcase artworks for a limited period of time.

Link to Strategic Plan: Installation of temporary public art furthers the goals of the Cultural Vitality (Creativity, Diversity and Innovation) pillar of the City's Corporate Strategic Plan, by continuing to support the downtown core as an Arts District.
