Additional Shelter Space Now Available

Summary

A total of 30 additional summer shelter spaces will be made available starting tonight, July 4, 2018, at 7:00 pm. The spaces are provided by the First Unitarian Fellowship of Nanaimo, in conjunction with assistance from the City of Nanaimo and BC Housing and will remain open until October 31, 2018.

Additionally, the Nanaimo Unitarian Shelter will be providing extended service through its shower program at Caledonia Park.

  • The shelter space is located at the First Unitarian Fellowship of Nanaimo property at 595 Townsite Road, Nanaimo, B.C., V9S 1K9.
  • The shelter will operate from daily from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am on a first-come, first-served basis and will provide two meals daily along with other social supports and services.
  • After October 31, 2018, the normal cold-weather shelter service will resume at this location.
