Council Announces 2016 Culture & Heritage Award Recipients

City to recognize excellence in culture and heritage

Summary

Each year, the City of Nanaimo recognizes individuals and groups that make Nanaimo a more culturally vibrant city. Council has approved the following recipients for the 2016 Culture & Heritage Awards:

EXCELLENCE IN CULTURE - Ms. Susan Juby HONOUR IN CULTURE - Ms. Debbie Trueman EMERGING CULTURAL LEADER - Ms. Alyssa Glassford JOHN THOMSON HERITAGE MEMORIAL - Mr. John Hofman

Recognition of these recipients will take place at a special awards ceremony to be held at the Port Theatre on April 13, 2016. Tickets and ceremony details will be advertised prior to the event. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • The John Thomson Heritage Memorial Award is presented to individuals who demonstrate outstanding heritage service and dedication to the community.
