Key Points
- At its meeting of 21 July 2014, Council provided $15,000 in funding towards this rebate program. In partnership with BC Hydro, this will mean a total amount of $30,000 will be made available to customers.
- Clothes washers must have a minimum Modified Energy Factor of 3.0 and a maximum Water Factor of 3.5 to receive a $100 rebate. To receive a $200 rebate, washers must have a minimum Modified Energy Factor of 3.4 and a maximum Water Factor of 3.6. Washers must be installed within Nanaimo's boundaries.
- BC Hydro will administer the program, and process rebates on both parties' behalf.
- Residents are advised to watch the "Deals" page at www.PowerSmart.ca/deals as well as watching their local retailers. Qualifying Energy Star washers can be found at www.PowerSmart.ca/appliances
