City Adds Additional Parcel to Linley Valley Park

Summary

The City of Nanaimo has added an additional parcel to the future Linley Valley park. The City has entered into an Option to Purchase Agreement with the owner of 3650 Cottleview Drive. The majority of this 2.4 ha 6.0 acre parcel will be transferred to the City for $1, in exchange for the City facilitating two 600m2 lots on Cottleview Drive. The remainder of the parcel will be transferred to the City as dedicated park. The City will pay for survey costs and the associated development cost charge (DCC) fees. Total cost of the acquisition is anticipated to be around $40,000. The property is anticipated to transfer to the City by the end of the 2014.
