Test of Emergency Alert System - October 19, 2023

A test of the City's emergency alert system, Voyent Alert!, will take place during the Great BC ShakeOut Earthquake Drill on Thursday, October 19 at 10:19 am.

During the test, registered users will receive a call, text or email with the following message:

“This is a TEST of the City of Nanaimo’s emergency alert system. This is ONLY a TEST. If this had been an actual emergency or threat, you would see or hear instructions that would assist you to protect you and your family. This is ONLY a TEST, NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.”
