Public Works:

  • Sanitation crews will be out revisiting areas that were challenging to get to this past Thursday and Friday. They will be attempting to collect recycling and organics from areas that weren’t accessible on the regular collection day. With the snowbanks piling up at the side of the roads, carts that are normally placed on the sidewalk are not often reachable. In these instances, please place your cart in the roadway in front your driveway.
  • Stay up to date with your garbage/recycling collection route by downloading the Nanaimo Recycles app. You will receive notifications to your phone of interruptions in your collection schedule. Find the download links on the Garbage and Recycling Calendar page on the City website.
  • Crews will be working to clear roads through Friday night and on Saturday in residential areas.
  • Do you have a catch basin in front of your property? Watch this video to see how you can help prevent flooding when the snow melts.
