On August 10th, 2016 at 6:00 pm the Snowbirds Fly for CH.I.L.D., presented by the Government of B.C, will take place over Nanaimo Harbour. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will perform an amazing aerial show free for the whole family. Viewing the show will be best anywhere along the downtown waterfront but arrive early to find a good spot.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will “Fly For CH.I.L.D.”, raising awareness for the CH.I.L.D. Foundation (Children with Intestinal & Liver Disorders) and the quest for a cure for very ill children with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The Snowbirds are Ambassadors for the CH.I.L.D. Foundation, one of only two charities in Canada so designated. All proceeds via sponsors, raffle and commemorative t-shirt sales will go directly to C.H.I.L.D. Foundation.

Temporary Flight Restrictions in Place

Due to the popularity of recreational drones and unmanned, remote-controlled aircraft, there will be a temporary flight restriction in place prohibiting the use of these devices in the skies above the City and with-in 7 nautical miles of Nanaimo Harbour during Snowbirds Fly for CH.I.L.D., to ensure the safety of both air show participants and spectators. Also for safety reasons boats will be prohibited from entering the Nanaimo Harbour during the show.
