Current Planning
The Current Planning Section is responsible for current planning and development functions in the City. This includes the administration of the City’s Zoning Bylaw, Parking Bylaw and Sign Bylaw and the application of Development Permit Area guidelines.
The Current Planning Section is responsible for processing policy and development-related applications such as Zoning Bylaw amendments, development permits, and development variance permits.
The section also reviews and processes applications for the Board of Variance, liquor licenses, sign permits, business licenses, telecommunications facilities and waste stream management licences, as well as Agricultural Land Reserve applications.
City staff provides the support for committees including the Community Planning and Development Committee, Design Advisory Panel, and the Board of Variance.
