Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking election workers to facilitate voting in the 2026 Local General Election. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • A minimum of 16 years of age and eligible to work in Canada
  • Available to attend a training session that will be scheduled to take place between September 8 – October 2, 2026
  • Available to work from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on General Voting Day - Saturday, October 17, 2026

Compensation and Benefits

Election workers will be paid between $470 to $510 per day based on the position and responsibilities assigned; compensation for the required training session is included in the daily rate. A limited number of positions are also needed for advance poll days (October 7 & 14, 2026).

All interested applicants must complete the Election Worker Application. Paper copies of the application form are available for pickup at the Legislative Services Office.
