Dog Licence Renewals

Each year around the end of January, dog owners will receive a renewal notice in the mail.  Dog licenses are an annual fee that cover the calendar year (January to December). Having an active dog licence with the City of Nanaimo is a requirement for all dogs over the age of 16 weeks (4 months).

To renew a dog licence, a new application is not required.  Payment can be made in the following ways:

  • Online through our website here (account number and access code)
  • In person at 411 Dunsmuir Street (Monday - Friday 8:00-4:30)
  • Cheque via mail to 455 Wallace Street, Nanaimo, BC, V9R 5J6
